Not only has AMD just confirmed its Ryzen 7000 processors and Radeon RX 7000 graphics cards for 2022, but it has also assured that it has invested in ensuring that their production and inventory are sufficient.

Despite complicated availability for its processors and graphics cards for several months, AMD saw its revenues jump by 68% in 2021. Excellent results which prompted the manufacturer to invest heavily to guarantee the production of its future products and “ensure our growth in 2022 and beyond”, explained Lisa Su, the president of the group, during a conference devoted to the results of the company.
The global shortage of components has indeed strongly impacted the availability of CPUs and GPUs from all manufacturers and negotiations to secure enough chips from foundries like TSMC must be tumultuous. Apple has managed to hold its own and seems to have been less affected than the others, having consolidated the production of 5 nm chips at TSMC precisely.

Hope for 2022
We therefore hope that AMD is telling the truth, especially with the arrival this year of its Ryzen 7000 CPUs equipped with the new Zen 4 architecture, inaugurating the transition from a fineness of engraving from 7 to 5 nm. Similarly, Radeon RX 7000 graphics cards are expected with GPUs under RDN 3 architecture. Better availability will doubly satisfy consumers who will finally be able to get their hands on components, and this at less exorbitant prices than currently — provided that intermediaries and distributors do not inflate prices artificially. Obviously, larger sales volumes would ensure even better financial results for AMD in 2022.
Both processors and graphics cards should therefore benefit from a good performance boost this year compared to the previous generation. It remains to be seen whether we will be entitled to the only announcements (logically in the last quarter of 2022) or to direct availability before the end of the year.
