The new Ryzen 8000G processors, announced last month by AMD at CES 2024, are now available.

Improved graphics performance

Intended for desktop PCs, the new Ryzen 8000G are based on a Zen 4 architecture. They also have Radeon 740M-780M graphics chipsets, which improve their graphics performance compared to older models equipped with Intel Core. They are compatible with Socket AM5 motherboards and support DDR5 memory.

The new processors also feature Precision Boost Overdrive (PBO), an automatic overclocking feature, and AMD EXPO technology, designed to deliver higher memory frequencies while reducing device latency.

More AI with Ryzen AI

The high-end Ryzen 7 8700G model allows a display of 30 frames per second (fps) with a resolution of 1080 pixels at a “low” graphics level. It is possible to increase the number of frames per second thanks to Fluid Motion Frames and HYPR-RX technology.

The first two products in the lineup, the Ryzen 7 8700G (8 cores, 16 threads, Radeon 780M) and the Ryzen 5 8600G (6 cores, 12 threads, Radeon 760M), include the Ryzen AI engine, which accelerates calculations for ‘artificial intelligence.

Regarding prices, the Ryzen 7 8700G should be sold for around 360 euros, the Ryzen 5 8600G for 250 euros and the Ryzen 5 8500G below 200 euros.
