The electric vehicle giant is introducing a new Dynamic Energy Management function for its Wall Connector. And the consumer should appreciate the benefits.
When we talk about the company chaired by Elon Musk, we inevitably think of electric cars, like his Cybertruck, which is arriving in France. But the American company also produces accessories allowing charging, particularly at home, using the Wall Connector. A device that plugs into the same network as a person’s home, to be able to charge their vehicle at home. And this device will now be much better integrated into daily electricity consumption thanks to the Dynamic Energy Management (DEM) system.
The Wall Connector will automatically adjust to power consumption
Tesla brings something new to its Wall Connector. The latter now integrates the Dynamic Energy Management (DEM) system, the function of which is to adapt the charging of the electric car to the consumption of other electrical appliances in the home.
Its power varies depending on the power used by other domestic devices. If several of them are already connected and consuming, the power of the Wall Connector will be reduced, so as not to overload the network. On the contrary, if little electricity is consumed at a given time, the Wall Connector will increase its power at the same time.
Maximized charging speed
The main advantage, as we can easily understand, is to increase the charging speed of an electric vehicle without having to carry out manual manipulation. The network in general will also benefit from this innovation, since it will avoid overloading in neighborhoods where many electric vehicle owners can be found charging their cars at home.
An overall efficiency that is all the more interesting as the Wall Connector’s Dynamic Energy Management system will work with both Tesla vehicles and cars produced by other brands. A plus that could boost sales?
