During the new blind audition evening for “The Voice”, Saturday March 5, 2022, Morgane performed “Corps”, by Yseult. The story of this Bordelaise touched Amel Bent, who found herself in her career. The singer took the opportunity to denounce fatphobia.

The fourth evening of blind auditions of The Voice was broadcast on Saturday March 5, 2022 on TF1. And, once again, the emotions were there, especially with the passage of Morgane. The 16-year-old Bordeaux girl performed “Corps”, by Yseult. A title that was not chosen at random. “With this song, I want the coaches to feel how I suffered and how I got up, let them feel my emotions, hoping to warm people’s hearts”, she explained, before her passage. Mission successful because, if only Florent Pagny turned around, all the coaches have been affected by Morgane’s performance. Starting with Amel Bent.

While the interpreter of “My philosophy” asks her why she selected this song, the candidate answers her, with tears in her eyes:I often thought of myself as a body and not as a young girl.” And, if she did not buzz, Amel Bent welcomed this choice: “It’s moving. A singer like Yseult and many others, they do good. These are songs that do good becausethey help us to accept shapes and curves.”

Morgane’s story also brought the 36-year-old artist back a few years, to the start of her career. Morgane’s journey reminds her of her own. “It doesn’t look like it but a few years ago I was also very unhappy with my physiqueso I know what you’re going through”, she confessed to him. And to add: “Singing, going on stage, is already laying bare but when you come to sing this song with the journey that you had to have and that you must have with your appearance, it’s normal.” Amel Bent ended up denouncing fatphobia. “We are not going to make a jargon, we live in a society that is ultra-fatphobic and we may be in a positive body dynamic, but we have to carry them, the kilos. It’s still a daily battle.”, she let go. The singer also told Morgane that she found her “strong and brave”.
