L’America’s Cup, it’s an event that every water sports fan should know about. And if you are one of them, it has probably not escaped your notice that the 37th edition will take place in Barcelona between August and October this year. It is therefore with their brand new developer hats that they presented on April 9 the aptly named AC Sailing. Moreover, they did not just reveal it since the title is already available on Steam and theEpic Games Store since its announcement. Half racing game, half simulation, AC Sailing teaches us all the technicalities of handling a ship and at the same time makes us participate in speed events involving up to eight boats in competition. AC Sailing has the obvious vocation of promoting a sport which, by its own admission, looks jealously at the advent of our media.
But even more than the industry as a whole, it is the eSports circuit thatEmirates Team New Zealand examine with a magnifying glass. This is why AC Sailing is already accompanied by its official championship called America’s Cup E-Series. An announcement which is also part of a desire to make itself accessible to a wider audience since the organizers have also revealed the new tournaments Unicredit Youth America’s Cup and the PUIG Wowen’s America’s CupNautical competitions dedicated respectively to young sailors and female sailors.
To return to theAmerica’s Cup E-Seriesthe championship will essentially consist of an online qualifying phase. The final will take place offline and will take place in Barcelona, like the competition on which it is inspired..
