AMS merger – mayors fear deception

Customers from the Lafnitztal should visit the AMS Stegersbach in the future. This means that the local bosses in the Jennersdorf district are growing concerned that the service point will be completely withdrawn. The AMS, on the other hand, sees a growing service and refers to a three-year contract

There is currently great excitement among the mayors of the southernmost district. The reason for this is the merger of the AMS Jennersdorf and Stegersbach, which came into force at the beginning of the year, and the instruction for AMS customers from the Lafnitztal (German Kaltenbrunn to Heiligenkreuz) to visit the Stegersbach office for advice and not the one in their district. City boss sees deliberate misinformationJennersdorf’s city boss Reinhard Deutsch (JES) sees this as deliberate misinformation from the AMS. “We only agreed to the merger because we were assured that there would be no deterioration in service. If we had played with open cards from the start, we would never have gotten involved in it,” says Deutsch, also with regard to the expected increase in unemployment. Some customers have longer journeys. Königsdorf’s SPÖ mayor Mario Trinkl also expresses criticism. “Some customers now even have to travel longer distances.” There is also a fear that the withdrawal of customers will lead to a gradual, complete abolition of the AMS Jennersdorf, as Chamber of Commerce chairman Josef Kropf believes, who sees an urgent need for discussion in the state advisory board.AMS Tries to calm down AMS regional manager Helene Sengstbratl and can’t understand the excitement. “The regulation even means shorter distances for many customers and if advice is desired in Jennersdorf, then this is still possible.” The reason for the regulation is also the decimated workforce at AMS Jennersdorf, as branch manager Sonja Marth explains. “However, it is always agreed with customers over the phone where the consultation should take place.”
