A new documentary will be released on the tenth anniversary of Amy Winehouse’s death. Her mother Janis Winehouse is also there.

Janis Winehouse, the mother of Amy Winehouse (1983-2011), is working with the BBC on a new documentary about her daughter’s life. The occasion is the tenth anniversary of the legendary musician’s death. The main reason why Janis Winehouse would like to take part in the documentary is therefore her own multiple sclerosis disease, “which threatens to rob her memories of Amy”, as stated in a report by the BBC.

Janis Winehouse was diagnosed with MS in 2003, and memory problems are not uncommon in this autoimmune disease. In addition, she doesn’t think the world knows the “real Amy” she raised, said the mother: “I’m looking forward to the opportunity to offer an understanding of her roots and a deeper insight into the real Amy.”

The Souldiva had celebrated huge success with their album “Back To Black” in 2006, with high chart placements as well as five Grammy wins, and established itself as an exceptional talent. Her career was marked by drug addiction, mental health problems and withdrawal. She died of alcohol poisoning in 2011 at the age of 27.
