An adorable little high-performance keyboard

We had the opportunity to test one of the latest keyboard entries from Corsair, namely the K70 Pro Mini. This is what we can tell you after several weeks of testing.

We keep telling you on Gameblog, fashion is for small devices. Practical and easily transportable, this is obviously what the manufacturers are putting part of their efforts towards. As proof, we want this K70 Pro Mini from Corsair. This is a famous so-called 60% keyboard which of course offers a wireless system for the occasion to optimize its use when travelling.

Small but valiant, on the road to the flamboyants

We reassure you we do not intend to sing you the full song of Kirikou but rather tell you about the bravery of this Corsair K70 Pro Mini. Right out of its black and yellow packaging (a classic for the manufacturer) you can admire this little device that could be described as very cute. This is often the first reaction even for those who have no particular affinity with the world of PC video games “It’s too cute”. Very compact, it weighs 640 grams and measures 29.3 cm in length, 10.9 cm in width and 4 cm in height. It can really be carried everywhere, in any bag and be forgotten. It can even be a plus for playing at home and having a minimalist office.

Beautiful design and comfort of use

It has a very pretty and particularly refined design, ignoring any aggressive lines. The set rests on a quality aluminum frame with under the bottom two small feet to raise the position. The upper left part contains the connectors in the USB-C port and the power button. On the other side we obviously have the embedded USB dongle to further save space. Everything exudes solidity and you really have the feeling of having a beautiful piece of machinery in your hands.

This K70 Pro Mini Wireless has opted for quality (and classic) by embedding Cherry MX Red switches on board (for our test version, but there are other versions). The MX RED allow you to benefit from a beautiful linearity and a very soft and regular side in the strike. This is usually the choice of heavy FPS gamers.

This 60% keyboard is very comfortable even when you are used to using a full size device. Corsair highlights a USB connection with Axon technology and its native polling rate of 8000 Hz against 2000 Hz in Splitstream Wireless. The result ? Simply no latency and an ultra-responsive and precise keyboard in wireless mode. We tested this on Hunt Showdown, no complaints. It’s faultless.

The key feedback is simply excellent, the typing is fluid and flawless and the use is as efficient in game as in simple office automation. Obviously when you are used to a large keyboard the absence of multimedia keys is a difficult passage, but you know what you want when you decide to buy a 60%.

A beautiful sight for the eyes

If you want to illuminate your room with a thousand lights, know that this Corsair K70 Pro Mini Wireless obviously offers RGB compatibility. Via the brand’s iCUE software, you will be able to customize profiles and choose different levels of lighting (stream, ripple, etc.). Obviously it is also possible via this same software to record macros. In short, everything is possible and we can only salute once again the practical side of the app.
