Until a few months ago, users of stick vacuum cleaners had to resort to emptying the waste bins into a simple trash can. Today, many models benefit from an automatic emptying base and you simply place the vacuum cleaner on it so that the dust is directed towards a bag or towards a larger collector. This method allows you to space out the chore of putting in the trash, but also provides a solution for storing and recharging stick vacuum cleaners by providing a base to place on the ground which fulfills these two missions.

After LG, Samsung and Tineco, it’s Dreame’s turn to enter this battle with the Z10 Station, a relatively simple product, but which seems rather well equipped to face the competition. For example, it features multicyclonic filtration to separate air from dust. This first barrier is supported by a foam filter and a Hepa filter to prevent the finest dust from being released into the room. The Dreame Z10 Station seems to lack a particle counter or intelligent brush to identify the nature of the ground over which it passes to adapt the suction power. However, it can go from split suction (by releasing the trigger, the motor stops and the battery is no longer required to extend the autonomy) to continuous suction; a first press on the trigger starts the suction, a second stops it for the comfort of the wrist. In addition, the user has an estimate of the autonomy in percentage, which proves to be much more precise than a simple trio of diodes, a system still used on certain stick vacuum cleaners. Another advantage is that the vacuum head is equipped with a strip of LEDs to illuminate under furniture or to illuminate dark floors.

The emptying station works with 2.5 liter dust bags which will therefore need to be replaced – and purchased – when they are full; however, the manufacturer promises 90 days of peace of mind. Even though this type of consumable is supposed to effectively contain dust, the base of the Z10 is equipped with a filtration system, like the vacuum cleaner. The emptying of debris begins as soon as the Z10 is placed in its location and lasts 10 seconds. Note that the emptying station is also used for recharging. Once the collector has been emptied, simply leave the vacuum cleaner in place to carry out the operation and benefit from 65 minutes of autonomy according to the manufacturer, at the lowest power and without an electrobrush connected.

The Dreame Z10 Station is the cheapest stick vacuum cleaner with emptying station on the market today, since it can easily be found for less than €500. Which doesn’t spoil anything, it comes with numerous accessories: two suction heads (one with a hard brush, the other with a soft roller), a mini electric brush for sofas, a soft brush, a long nozzle and an accessory holder.
