An AI generates a children’s movie trailer, the result is terrifying

We would almost advise you not to watch this video shared en masse on Twitter, as it seems to be the source of many nightmares. There is certainly a bit of exaggeration in this introduction, but it must be recognized that what was supposed to be a trailer for the adaptation of Heidi, famous licensed children’s books and films, is seriously chilling.

Anyone who’s seen The Shining knows how scary kids can be in movies. Even some movies aimed at toddlers can sometimes give older kids the creeps. But, when the AI gets involved, it’s obviously a whole other level of discomfort that is reached. Proof of this is a video recently shared by user Karpi on his Twitter account. He explains that he asked a Gen-2, Runway’s AI that allows you to create videos from scratch, to generate a trailer for an imaginary film taking place in Heidi’s universe.

For those who do not know this classic of Swiss literature, Heidi tells the story of a little orphan who goes to live with her grandfather in the middle of the mountains. The saga has already been adapted many times in films and cartoons, but this time it is a live action version that Karpi wanted to imagine. The result is… let’s say the childish atmosphere disappeared along the way.

This AI-generated trailer is the scariest thing you’ll see today

The tone is set from the first seconds. We see a young girl laughing out loud, a pretty cute image if her face weren’t deformed like an unreassuring shapeshifter. The faces, on the other hand, are clearly what the video is lacking, their benevolent appearance not enough to overshadow their expressions straight out of a horror movie.

But humans are not the only ones present in this video from hell, since we also come across a cow visibly fed with growth hormones, as well as an ox apparently able to walk in the middle of the clouds. The word of the end of this nice trailer: The The Elued. We let you decode.
