Called because of the nighttime noise caused by his customers, the owner of an Airbnb accommodation was severely beaten by them. Ten months later, the perpetrators were finally apprehended.
You never really know who you’re going to run into, as the other would say, when you rent your accommodation in Airbnb to complete strangers. The owner of an apartment located in Nancy had the bitter experience of this. Last May, he rented the property to two people, who quickly became six people making a hell of a racket. Alerted, the owner intervened, but he only received blows and violence from his own customers. Months later, the individuals were all arrested, finally.
Airbnb accommodation owners hit in the middle of the night by their own customers
What is certain is that the accommodation in question was not equipped with cameras, a device now completely banned indoors by Airbnb. The owner couple therefore had no idea what was happening in their apartment.
The couple, who thought they had rented their accommodation to another completely peaceful couple, were alerted by neighbors on the night of May 10 to 11, for noise at night. Arriving on the scene when it was around 1 a.m., the owners were confronted with a situation more alarming than expected.
Because instead of the expected couple of tenants, they were in fact confronted with three, four, five, then six people, two women and four men to be precise. The 49-year-old owner, who had made the trip with his own golf club, just in case, tried to evict the intruders. But he himself was violently attacked, with his own club, receiving blows and elements of his furniture on his body.

With the help of Airbnb, investigators were able to identify the person who had rented the accommodation. As for the others, they were able to be apprehended thanks to facial recognition. They all lived in Reims and Châlons-en-Champagne.
This Tuesday, March 26, the six people present in the apartment that evening were arrested. Two women aged 23 and 24 and four men aged 21 to 27 were taken into police custody in Nancy.
