An incredible nugget returns to PS5, Xbox Series and PC

After all these years, we have just learned that a cult game is coming to PS5, Xbox Series and PC. This is a must-see and not to be missed under any circumstances.

It happens that consoles like the PS5 or the Xbox Series bring unexpected productions to their ranks. Sometimes we talk about a simple transfer from one generation to another, which can still be welcome. But today, we just learned that a new version of an iconic game was coming to Sony and Microsoft machines, but also to PC. And we’re not dealing with just anyone. You could almost say he is legendary.

Braid is coming to PlayStation, Xbox and PC

Three years ago, Jonathan Blow unveiled an Anniversary Edition for one of his most acclaimed productions: Braid. If you don’t know it, it’s a puzzle platform game where you can manipulate time, among other things. The goal is rather classic, you have to travel through several worlds in order to save a princess. Nevertheless, its different reading levels were quickly noticed, and the depth of the title ultimately succeeded in building its popularity. And so, this beautiful nugget will now land on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Series, PC and Netflix Mobile, 15 years after its birth. We even have a release date: on April 30, 2024.

Plus, it’s full of new stuff!

But then, are there anything new on the menu? The answer is yes, and not just a little. Braid’s visuals were hand-painted by artist David Hellman who worked on the original game. Generally speaking, the graphics have been improved, and the level of detail promises to be impressive. There will be completely new animations for our main character. As for the music, it will also be revised, while keeping the compositions of the time. That said, the developers will give the player the choice to select the basic soundtrack or the new one.

However, in this batch of changes to the 2008 experience, there is one addition that really surprises: developer commentary. This extends over 15 hours and includes markers that appear on the screen, or diagrams to illustrate the point. In fact, Jonathan Blow wants to treat “ thoughts and ideas on puzzle design, programming, visual art, mathematics, the history of indie games, and many other topics.” We are clearly facing a risky bet, even if it is not obligatory, but the creator of Braid justified his decision: “ I want to offer the craziest, most in-depth developer commentary ever put into a video game “.

Another big license on PS5 and Xbox Series

For information, another cult franchise landed on PS5 and Xbox Series about a week ago. Indeed, Hotline Miami 1 and 2 have arrived on the latest consoles from Sony and Microsoft in native version. More precisely, the compilation Hotline Miami Collection is now available on manufacturers’ stores at a price of €19.99. If you prefer to take them individually, the first episode costs €9.99 and the second €14.99. This is a golden opportunity, and it will be a good way to wait for the release of the Anniversary version of Braid.
