A very original “joke”.

Mona Lisa rubs shoulders with a meme in painting

In a youtube video uploaded on December 25, Niko Omilana decided to infiltrate the famous Louvre Museum.

It is the most visited museum in the world. Indeed, the largest art gallery in the world has timeless masterpieces such as the Mona Lisa or the Raft of the Medusa. Despite this, an elusive work has always escaped this setting in the history of art. This work is just a painting of a meme of Calro Tentacule or Squidward Tentacles in English.

Omilana previously challenged her fans to recreate the popular meme Handsome Squidward. He then framed and took to the Louvre “the work of art” to place it in the same room as the Mona Lisa.

Surprisingly, the YouTuber succeeded and placed his painting among the other works of art in the museum.

Once the painting was installed, Omilana stayed around to inquire about the public’s impressions. The YouTuber even asked for the opinion of the security of the Louvre Museum, who did not know that it was he who had hung the painting.

As the Louvre began to close, security finally figured out what Omilana had done. This led him into the hands of the police who escorted him out of the museum.

For now, the Louvre has decided not to press charges against the YouTuber, although his actions are undoubtedly problematic, especially if they were to become widespread.
