An Intel ARC Alchemist with 32 Xe cores shows up and challenges the RTX 3070 Ti

Their launch is approaching, but the technical specifications are still missing regarding the next graphics cards
Intel ARC for desktop PC. A new entry on the SiSoftware Sandra database, however, hints at great things for Intel’s future high-end GPU.

Intel will expand its offering of competitive GPU solutions in the coming months with its first ARC chips for desktop PCs. Still, if the launch of these new cards is about to materialize, Intel has not yet seen fit to share with us their technical specifications… or to give us a first glimpse of their performance. We must therefore content ourselves with leaks to find out more.

We know (a little) more about the high-end Intel ARC

If some information had already reached us through unofficial channels, now a new entry on the SiSoftware Sandra database allows us to learn more about the most powerful version of Intel ARC GPU chips.

The information that interests us today indeed concerns the 32 Xe chip (DG2-512), which should include 4,096 ALUs for an estimated frequency of 2.10 GHz. There would also be 4 MB of L2 cache and 16 GB of GDDR6 video memory with a 256-bit bus. The interest of the new entry observed on SiSoft Sandra is that it allows a comparison with other graphics cards on the market in terms of performance.

The RTX 3070 Ti in the crosshairs?

We thus discover that the new Intel GPU would be able to develop 9,017 Mpix/s. A slightly higher value than that allowed by the RTX 3070 Ti, which is limited to 8,369.51 Mpix / s. By way of comparison, AMD’s Radeon RX 6800 comes in first, with 10,607.29 Mpix/s, while the Radeon RX 6700XT comes in at the bottom of the table, with 7,910.91 Mpix/s.

Still according to the SiSoft Sandra database, the small ARC 380 (DG2-128) chip that Intel should offer on the entry level would develop 2,956.10 Mpix/s… for performance approximately three times lower. to those expected with the high-end Intel DG2-512 chip. Logically, the latter would have four times more hearts, as recalled WCCFTech.
