This is an exceptional (and possibly dangerous) spectacle admired by many people that took place last weekend. Indeed, the Long March 5B rocket made a rather spectacular return to the atmosphere.
On July 24, the famous rocket took off from Wenchang with the second of the three modules that will make up the Chinese space station Tiangong on board. If the launch was carried out successfully, the return to the atmosphere of the launcher was a little more noticeable. The latter indeed came to scatter over the Indian Ocean for its arrival on Earth. And the event did not go unnoticed!

On Twitter, a user based in Kuching, Malaysia observed the turbulent return of Long March 5B on July 31. Locals appear to have mistaken the rocket debris for a meteor shower. But the US Space Command quickly confirmed that it was indeed the machine sent into space by China. Much of the debris would thus have burned between the Philippines and Malaysia.
An event that NASA did not fail to castigate China, accusing it of not having “ shared specific information about the trajectory when its Long March 5B rocket fell back to Earth “. In 2020, during a test flight, pieces of the rocket fell on a village in Ivory Coast. Fortunately, only material damage had been reported. Long March 5B will likely be entitled to at least two additional flights.
