Spectators have rarely seen Ana Girardot in such a role. She who is usually evanescent, pure, solar – sometimes even turning her personality into self-mockery, in the series The flame – embodies a much more raw character, skinned in the film The House by Anissa Bonnefont. In this adaptation of Emma Becker’s book, the actress plays a prostitute who lives in a Berlin brothel… hard work for the 34-year-old actress, who nevertheless came out of it like a chef.

“I didn’t know myself this plumb, explains Ana Girardot in the columns of the newspaper Release. Each sex scene was a leap into the void. I no longer looked at the script. I had to be able to take a man’s hand to guide him and help him do the right things, like reassuring the actors who had to lay themselves bare too.“It must be said that Emma, the famous prostitute, led a life radically opposed to that of the actress. Far from the film sets, she leads a quiet life with husband, house – but not closed – and child.
