On Wednesday January 18, 2023, TF1 continues to broadcast And Just Like That, the sequel to Sex and the City, from 10:50 p.m. In these episodes, after several weeks of turning around, Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and Che (Sara Ramirez) get even closer… which did not please fans of the saga very much at the time of the broadcast in the States. -United.

Che displeased ‘And Just Like That’ fans
In the first part of this evening, Miranda and Che have sex in Carrie’s kitchen, while the latter is asleep in the next room! Temporarily disabled due to an operation, the heroine of the franchise calls her friend to help her get to the bathroom. Except that Miranda is very busy with the stand-up star… Carrie surprises them by the way, when she can no longer contain her pressing desire.
Quite disturbing, this scene reinforced the fans of the saga in the idea that Che was a problematic character. Faithful to the emblematic couple formed by Miranda and Steve (David Eigenberg), the latter have thus very badly experienced the adultery of the former lawyer towards her husband, who was once the one and only love of her life.
Moreover, seeing Miranda “abandon” a diminished Carrie to her sad fate, to frolic with Che, did not change the negative opinions that had already been circulating about her since the start of the season… Indeed, from her first appearances in And Just Like That, Che greatly annoyed the public because of his behavior.
A caricature character
Che was first presented as a person chaining conquests with frivolity and without affect. Hardcore fans have therefore screamed outrage when they saw Miranda suddenly throw her marriage in the trash to live an idyll that would potentially lead nowhere.
Subsequently, Che’s case did not get better because of his casual attitude pushed to the extreme towards Miranda, who only wanted to get to know him better… A radical evolution and strange for the great friend of Charlotte (Kristin Davis) and Carrie.
Finally, Che demonstrated on screen a wide range of characteristics that could define non-binary people…to the point of becoming a cliché without any subtlety. For example, the scenes from the recording of the podcast featuring Carrie or the grand premiere of Che’s show were seen by many as a display of wokism or an opportunistic way for the series to correct its mistakes at the time. of Sex and the City… The idea was, of course, benevolent to raise awareness but, alas, very badly done.
