Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 review

A new manufacturer has just announced its desire to launch a folding smartphone.

The folding screen definitely seems to be the future! While Samsung has been operating in the field for several years, the number of its competitors in the sector continues to grow, with the arrival of a new rival.

Realme, the new challenger

When we think of a folding smartphone, it is obviously Samsung that comes to mind. The Korean giant is in its fourth generation in the sector, with its Galaxy Z Fold 4, and its Galaxy Z Flip 4 clamshell phone. But other manufacturers have also joined in the dance, like Google and its Pixel Fold, or even the future model of OnePlus.

And yet, the list does not stop there, since a new manufacturer has just announced its future participation in this nascent market. Indeed, the vice-president of Realme Madhav Sheth today shared on Twitter the launch of the project to build a folding phone bearing the brand of the Chinese company.

The statement is purposely brief and does not go into detail about the firm’s plan. On the contrary, the leader posted this announcement in the form of a question, where he asks twittos if they prefer a Realme smartphone in the Flip (clamshell) version or in a more massive Fold-type version.

Other Chinese manufacturers like Huawei or Oppo have already embarked on the adventure. According to rumors, Realme had already wanted to produce its own folding device for several years, without seeing this ambition materialize in a marketed product.

And if Madhav Sheth has not yet given any additional information, we imagine that his foray into the social network is only the beginning of a teaser, which should during 2023 show us the novelty among the competition.
