And who takes the dog ?: Relationship comedy with star cast

In the comedy relationship "And who takes the dog?" show the top stars Martina Gedeck and Ulrich Tukur what midlife crises can look like.

Exactly a year ago, the relationship comedy celebrated "And who takes the dog?" premiered by director Rainer Kaufmann (61) at the Munich Film Festival; The film then started in cinemas at the beginning of August. And now, this Monday (June 29th), the TV premiere is at 8:15 p.m. in the first. The audience can expect a midlife crisis exchange of blows between the two actors Martina Gedeck (58, "Oktoberfest") and Ulrich Tukur (62, "Crime Scene: Born in Pain").

That's what the film is about

Georg (Ulrich Tukur) misses his longstanding marriage to Doris (Martina Gedeck) when he starts an affair with his much younger doctoral student Laura (Lucie Heinze). Until then, Doris and Georg were considered a happy couple in the Hamburg middle class. Now, after more than 25 years of marriage to two grown children, a house and a dog, they are standing in the wreckage of their relationship.

But despite separation, new love, anger and thoughts of revenge, they decide to undergo separation therapy with Gisela Bruhns (Angelika Thomas) to understand how it could come to this at all.

Is it worth turning on?

Martina Gedeck, Ulrich Tukur and Rainer Kaufmann, who has also been responsible for many award-winning films such as "Operation Zucker" (2012), "Blaubeerblau" (2011) or "Maria's Last Journey" (2005) in a film team? That sounds promising. And indeed, it is worthwhile to watch the two film, television and theater stars with their outstanding play.

On the other hand, you don't really learn much about the infamous midlife crisis phase and the different man-woman relationship crisis management. Nevertheless, long-term couples in this German light version of the cult film "Der Rosenkrieg" (1989) are likely to recognize some of the thematic conflicts …
