The #MeTooBoys movement is underway. The facts denounced by Francis Renaud prescribed?
An investigation was opened following his complaint for sexual harassment against film director André Téchiné, the Evreux prosecutor’s office announced on Sunday, calling for “greater caution”. The 56-year-old actor “filed a complaint against Mr. Téchiné for sexual harassment, against (casting director Gérard Moulevrier) for sexual assault, and against X for death threats“, declared to AFP the public prosecutor of Evreux, Rémi Coutin. “I have asked the police to open an investigation, without retaining a precise criminal qualification for the moment because Mr. Renaud’s hearing calls on me to exercise the greatest caution for the moment.“, he clarified.

Concerning the complaint for sexual assault against Mr. Moulevrier, the actor “speaks of facts which could perhaps be qualified as sexual assault, he speaks of caresses in particular of his penis through clothes“, There is “20 or 25 years old“, he said. There too, arises “the question of possible prescription“.”It seems to me at this stage difficult to envisage with certainty the criminal qualifications” for the investigation, concluded Mr. Coutin, indicating that he had requested a second hearing of the complainant by the police. Director of around thirty eclectic films, André Téchiné, aged 80, was qualified in 2017 as “giant of French cinema” by the Cannes Film Festival. Francis Renaud accused the filmmaker on Friday on an unprecedented wave of accusations of sexual violence launched in particular by the actress Judith Godrèche.
