At the microphone of Entertainment Tonight, Andrew Garfield tells how he desperately tried to play in the franchise “The Chronicles of Narnia” from Disney, and the scathing reason why he was not retained in the casting.
While savoring the planetary cardboard of Spider-Man no Way Home, Andrew Garfield indulged in a few confidences at the microphone of Entertainment Tonight, relayed by Variety.
Referring to his struggles at the start of his acting profession, he says that he “desperately” tried to apply to join the cast that Disney was setting up when the firm was preparing the second part of the saga The Chronicles of Narnia.
“I remember I was desperate. I had auditioned to play Prince Caspian, and I was like ‘this is going to do, this is going to do’. And it was this handsome and talented Ben Barnes who ended up getting the part. I think we were the last two actors in the running, and I was obsessed with the character.” he comments.
Not having been selected for the role, he tried to find out why by asking his agent for an explanation. “Why not me? And she ended up confiding in me at my insistence: “It’s because they [les responsables du casting] think you’re not pretty enough”. Obviously, it hurts the ego a little …
