Since Android 10, Google has officially stopped using dessert names for Android versions. Internally, however, this is continued. We’ll tell you which “sweet” nickname Android 14 bears.

Since Android 10, the US company Google has not used dessert names for new Android versions. However, the tradition is continued internally. Android 11 was “Red Velvet Cake”, Android 12 was “Snow Cone” and Android 13 was internally titled “Tiramisu”.

As the technology blog XDA Developers reports, the nickname of the upcoming Android 14 has now been discovered in the code of a new commit in Android Gerrit. The operating system is codenamed “Upside Down Cake” and is scheduled to be released in autumn 2023.
