Android 14 is undoubtedly the longest-awaited OS update. October is coming to an end and, unless you’re on a Google Pixel, you’re still waiting to download it. But, if you’re currently using a Galaxy S23, we have good news for you: you won’t have to wait much longer.

The information comes straight from Samsung’s support forums, on which a moderator dropped a juicy detail. The beta of One UI 6.0, the overlay based on Android 14 launched last August, is indeed coming to an end. Specifically, the program is expected to conclude by the end of the week. Which means that the final version should follow suit.

Android 14 is coming to the Galaxy S23

“The One UI 6.0 beta for S23s is expected to end this week,” writes the moderator, before specifying : “We are doing a final inspection of all issues with the beta and, if there are any significant issues, we will deploy a new version and do a check. » Be careful, we are not yet safe from a last minute postponement.

At this point, everything hinges on the stability of this latest One UI 6.0 beta. If Samsung detects too many bugs, the general deployment may be postponed for several days. “We are targeting a specific date, but understand that it is difficult to provide a detailed timeline. Announcements are expected to be made through official channels at a later date, when the official version is distributed,” concludes the moderator.

Just after the Galaxy S23 should follow the Galaxy 2 Fold 5 and Flip 5, which received the One UI 6.0 beta a few days after the flagship. As a result, all premium smartphones should receive Android 14 by the end of the year.
