When I tested the Creative Aurvana Ace 2 headphones, I had a small problem. Every time I put them in my ears, the earbuds wouldn’t automatically connect to my Pixel 8 Pro. The headphones connected, but then I had to manually link the headphones to the smartphone via the settings.
Luckily, I discovered an experimental feature that, when enabled, triggers the headphones to automatically connect. This feature is called LE Audio. LE stands for Low Energy and guarantees users high-fidelity sound without sacrificing battery life.
LE Audio is enabled for each device. So I was able to enable it for the Aurvana headphones, but not for the other headphones I used.
Some older headphones may not need to enable LE Audio to automatically connect. This is more likely to be the case for newer headphones. But even some newer earbuds (like the Pixel Buds and Denon PerL Pro) are capable of automatically connecting without LE Audio enabled. If, however, you find that you have a pair that requires connecting them manually, LE Audio might solve the problem.
Let me show you how to activate it.
How to enable LE Audio in Android
What you will need: First of all, you will need a smartphone compatible with LE Audio, which includes these models: Google Pixel 7 and Google Pixel 8, Samsung Galaxy S23, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4. You will also need a pair of earbuds that you’ve already paired to your phone (but don’t always connect automatically when taken out of their case). There it’s done. Now let’s do some audio magic.
1. Take out your headphones
The first thing to do is take your headphones out of their case. Once you do, they should appear as available on your smartphone.
2. Open Connected Devices
Next, open Settings (either in the notification shade or app drawer), then tap Connected Devices.

3. Open device settings
Locate the list of headphones in question and tap the associated gear icon.
If your headphones aren’t listed, tap See All to expand the entries. Jack Wallen/ZDNET
4. Enable LE Audio
Find the listing for LE Audio and press the On/Off slider until it is in the On position.

Once you’ve fixed this, you can close the Settings app and your earbuds should now automatically connect to your Android device as soon as you take them out of their case and they come within range of your smartphone.
