Which manufacturer will deliver Android updates the fastest in 2021? On October 4th, Google released the new Android 12 mobile phone OS. The update then reached the first third-party smartphones in mid-November. Samsung was surprisingly able to secure the top position here.

Android update rollout speed compared
The South Korean manufacturer only needed 42 days to deliver Android 12 for the Galaxy S21. In the past few years, it took Samsung more than twice as long to distribute an Android update. 2nd and 3rd place go to OnePlus and Nokia and HMD Global.
OnePlus had already shone with quick updates in previous years, but it took almost twice as long as usual to roll out the first update in 2021. Nokia can restore its reputation after the Android 11 debacle with the quick distribution of the update for the Nokia X20.
Speed isn’t everything
It is surprising that Xiaomi has not yet distributed an update, but only beta versions for its mobile phones. Typically, the Chinese manufacturer was as quick or even faster than Samsung when it came to updating older phones.
