Years ago, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie fell in love on a movie set. Indeed, the legend of the mythical Hollywood couple was born on the set of the action film Mr and Mrs Smith. Released in 2005, the feature film will now be adapted into a series. But who to replace such actors?
If the return of More beautiful life on TF1 delights French viewers, fans of the secret agent couple are more mixed about the remake of their adventures. Stunning in a new look at the last British Grand Prix, Brad Pitt was irresistible as the husband hiding his dangerous profession from a wife, ultimately revealing himself to be a spy too. On the same mission, the couple had to compete and then collaborate. Beautiful and funny in the skin of this strong character, Angelina Jolie appears today in the natural, revealing its apparent roots.
Replacements for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie
In February 2021, Prime Video announced the adaptation of Doug Liman’s film in a television series headed by real sizes. Indeed, the main roles and the writing were to be entrusted to Donald Glover, actor and creator of the series Atlanta but also a singer with the nickname Childish Gambino; and to Phoebe Waller-Bridge, British actress and director noted for her play then series flea bag. Reunited in the Star Wars universe with Solo, their collaboration seemed to guarantee artistic quality and a grain of madness. But the one who participated in the series Killing Eveto the James Bond scenario No Time to Die and who plays in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny unfortunately left the ship, not wishing “block a vision” in his words.
To interpret Mrs Smith alongside Donald Glover, actress Maya Erskine was chosen in its place. We could see it in the series Insecure Or Obi-Wan Kenobi. But the first teaser of the show published by Amazon has so far not convinced. Many Internet users seem to regret the departure of Phoebe Waller-Bridge, others say they are tired of the remakes. Hard to pass after “Brangelina”…
