Angoulême 2023 winners: Time to love and Vincent Lacoste crowned


The 16th edition of the Angoulême film festival, which was held from August 22 to 27, 2023, is coming to an end. The jury chaired by Laetitia Casta has delivered its verdict.

After 5 days of competition and 6 days of events, rich in screenings and stars (Fanny Ardant, Karin Viard, Franck Dubosc, Agnès Jaoui, Vincent Lacoste, Fabrice Luchini…), the 16th edition of the Francophone Film Festival is about to lower the curtain, with the presentation of the closing film, Flo by Géraldine Danon.

A successful edition, with an ever-growing audience (58,000 people in theaters, according to the organizers, compared to 52,000 in 2022).

During the closing ceremony held this evening at the Théâtre d’Angoulême, the jury* chaired by Laetitia Casta presented its prize list. Le Temps d’aimer by Katell Quillévéré won two prizes, including the Festival’s most prestigious distinction, the Valois de Diamant. Vincent Lacoste receives the prize for best actor, while Nadia Tereszkiewicz is rewarded for Rosalie.

The actress received the César for female revelation in the spring for Les Amandiers. Among the distinguished films, we also note the first feature La vie de ma mère by Julien Carpentier, with Agnès Jaoui and William Lebghil.

Valois of the actress: Nadia Tereszkiewicz of Rosalie by Stephanie Di Giusto

Valois of the staging: Baloji for Augure

Valois of Diamond: time to love by Katell Quillévéré
