Animal Crossing New Horizons: 7 things not to miss in August 2022

It’s been over two years now since Animal Crossing New Horizons was released on the Nintendo Switch, much to the delight of fans. And although the title will never receive a big update again, forgetting these superb features from previous games, many players may have missed out on the new features added to the game last year. Maybe you are only discovering ACNH today and that is why we are offering you 7 things not to miss in August 2022.

The new fish and insects

August is synonymous with the appearance of new fish and insects, as well as sea creatures. In the northern hemisphere, the sun shines since summer is at its height, while in the southern hemisphere, it is the snowflakes that invade your islands. The arapaima and the turtle turtle just have to watch out!

seasonal materials

Right now, in the northern hemisphere, it’s an opportunity to collect blue seashells in order to make beautiful exclusive furniture! On the south side, spring will slowly set in and the snowflakes will disappear.

Summer is here for most Animal Crossing Switch players! And to celebrate this change of season, you will find mysterious blue seashells on your beach. But what are they for?

The third insectosafari

In the Northern Hemisphere only, you can enjoy the second insect tournament of the summer, organized by Djason. It takes place on Saturday, August 27, 2022 and, there again, it is an opportunity to capture a multitude of insects to complete your Museum or resell them. Thanks to the points obtained, you will be able to receive exclusive objects to decorate your island.

You can participate in a tournament that will test your skills with your net on Animal Crossing New Horizons! In this guide, we explain the rules, rewards and how to participate in the Insectosafari of summer 2022!

Fireworks

The 2022 fireworks begin at 7 p.m. every Sunday night in August and last all night. This is the opportunity to enjoy a magnificent sky but also Rounard’s Tombola, some exclusive gifts from Marie and to create your own designs!

Every Sunday night in August 2022, you can enjoy the festivities in Animal Crossing New Horizons. Here are the exact dates and activities available during these pyrotechnic shows.

The Tomato Festival: unprecedented!

Unlike previous Animal Crossing installments, the Switch version doesn’t offer special events per se in the village square. (RIP the groundhog party). That said, players can take advantage of many seasonal items to buy directly in the “temporary items” section of Nook Shopping, the application available on the Nookphone or on the Residents’ Office terminal.

Thanks to the last big update of the game, new items have been added to the game but a new party has also been added for the month of August! This is the Tomato Festival. By logging in between August 20 and 31you can then get this adorable exclusive T-shirt:
