Re:Direct’s Parker dipped into how the simplicity of the Anthem Editor may have worked in its favor. He realized that depending on where the anthem was broadcast, and especially by whom it was sung, the melody was strongly affected, so much so that even 16 notes can give infinitely different results by influencing instrumentation, pitch, timbre and rhythm.
To give you an example: your anthem does not give the same result when it is played by the game clock, once per hour, as when the door of a house is opened. But where it’s most obvious is obviously when talking to the inhabitants of the game. The artist realized that the tempo and the general interpretation of the anthem by each villager perfectly reflected his personality, his background or even the type of animal he is.
When the melody reflects the personality of the inhabitants

The normal villager, Molly, a duck, recites the song in a triplet swing – a more jazzy, upbeat style of music – and the song sounds a lot like the cackling of a duck. This pattern is used by all Normal characters, but the melody often differs depending on their mood as well.
It’s a mesmerizing sight that shows how there are thousands of possibilities, with Blaise’s hiss sometimes changing the mood of the song from happy to somber, or the grumpy villagers crooning the music a bit more sarcastically.
