Animal use – abandoned goats in the middle of the road

Two crazy goats kept the fire department in Gnas (Styria) busy on Saturday afternoon. They had escaped and were strolling leisurely down the street. However, in doing so, they put human lives in danger.

A sweet but dangerous undertaking: On Saturday afternoon, two adventurous goats – one brown and one white – escaped in the southeastern Styrian community of Gnas. They were probably of the opinion that they had to take a leisurely stroll along Gnaserstrasse towards Feldbach. Dangerous action The dangerous thing about it: “The road can be driven on at up to 100 km/h,” says Christian Karner from the fire department’s press service. Operation lasting several hours The police first rushed to help and guarded the goats before emergency services from the Gnas fire department came to support. They were on duty with three vehicles for a full two hours. Once the animals had been brought to safety, an attempt was made to locate the owners, which unfortunately was not successful. So a fire brigade truck with a roll container and a mesh box was converted into an animal transporter. After a short break at the Gnas armory, a “foster family” was found for the crazy goats.
