Animal use – fire brigade and police rescue escaped sheep

Three sheep that escaped during loading caused an evening operation by the fire brigade and police in the St. Ruprecht district of Villach. The animals had to be protected from the federal highway.

“The three sheep had already escaped during loading in the afternoon and disappeared into a forest,” reports fire brigade commander Edi Lastin from the FF St. Ruprecht/Villach. The sheep should be taken to their home stable. In the evening, walkers discovered the missing animals in a meadow in the Töbringer Straße area and alerted the emergency services. The strenuous hunt began shortly before 7 p.m. and lasted until 9 p.m. Sheep saved from the main road “The animals were very shy. It wasn’t easy to catch her. “We also had to prevent them from running onto the main road,” says Lastin. Five firefighters and two police officers, with the help of passers-by and food, finally managed to secure the three sheep in a property and then load them with the help of the owner. They should now have arrived safely at their home stable.
