Ankama postpones the release of Dofus 2 Unity and unveils its interfaces

During Krosmonote 2022, Ankama was able to reveal new information about the porting of Dofus 2 to Unity. We give you a summary of everything you need to remember.

DOFUS 2 Unity: Ankama presents the interfaces at Krosmonote 2022

Before starting this summary, it is good to remember that Dofus 2 Unity or Dofus 3.0 (the .0 is important) is a direct port of the MMO on a new engine. You will retain all of your people and accounts. This project should not be confused with Dofus 3(D), abandoned for the moment, or Dofus Cube, now Waven. To make matters worse, the company even named an alternative game Dofus Unity (the famous Dofus 3D). In short, you will only have to do one update to benefit from the changes. The servers will remain the same! You can find our full article here.

The major new data of this Krosmonote 2022 lies in new interfaces for Dofus. These had already been “coming soon” for some time, with mentions of a complete redesign of Player-Game interactions by Logan and the teams.

Unity brings brand new options for teams that are almost impossible in Flash. In addition, two major points are to be remembered here: Modularity and Fluidity. It will be possible to recreate the old interface placements while extending comfort as much as possible. We will mention in particular a new font, the removal of unnecessary interactions in combat or exploration and above all a modern appearance.

Attention, the images of the Krosmonote remain WIP, or Work In Progress. These are not in-game captures but recreations and study prototypes to visualize what the interfaces might look like. Don’t hesitate to give your feedback on social networks and the official Dofus forum.

The project is slightly delayed for its release date

Unfortunately, the port will not arrive in 2023. A beta seems more unlikely on the horizon and the Dofus team is pushing the project back to 2024. The whole of next year will focus on improvements to the current game and of Game Design, the technical aspect of development on Unity seems finished according to Logan.
