At the end of June 2023, Anna-Maria Ferchichi held a positive pregnancy test in her hand. Just a few weeks later she suffered a miscarriage. Now the mother of nine remembers the moment the second line appeared on the test.

“I’m in a bit of shock,” explained Anna-Maria Ferchichi, 41, in June. At that time, her husband Bushido, 44, posted a photo of a positive pregnancy test on Instagram. The couple had no idea at the time that the mother of nine would have a miscarriage just a few weeks later. Shortly after the positive pregnancy test, both Anna-Maria and Bushido appeared happy – but only outwardly. In their joint podcast they now let their fans take a look behind the scenes.

Anna-Maria Ferchichi: “Deep sadness” after a positive pregnancy test

“I was in shock,” remembers Anna-Maria in the current episode of the podcast “In Bed with Anna-Maria & Anis Ferchichi”. When the pregnancy test came back positive, she didn’t have the usual feeling of joy. “It then sunk in and the shock didn’t subside at all,” she now reveals. And explains further: “I looked at the triplets that were all stuck to my leg and I just thought to myself inside: ‘But I have to have time for you.'”

During her previous pregnancies, the joy of having a new family member was always great – for both Anna-Maria and Bushido. “And this time I realized: I don’t know if this is a good thing,” she reports. The evening after the test, Anna-Maria “drove to the holiday apartment and almost had to cry. I had such a lump in my throat. […] I had an incredibly deep sadness within me that wouldn’t go away.”

Was the difficult triplet pregnancy to blame?

Contrary to his first public words after the pregnancy test, Bushido was also “totally sad and shocked” in private, Anna-Maria remembers today. It took her a while to understand these deep feelings – and attributes them to the worries and fear for her triplet daughter Amaya, 1. The now mother of nine has rarely had problems with her pregnancies or afterwards. That changed when she was pregnant with the triplets: unborn Amaya’s heart beat so weakly that it was uncertain whether they would survive. If she had died in the womb, the triplets would have been at risk of premature birth.

“This trauma runs so deep,” Anna-Maria has to admit to herself today. “The sadness I had for Amaya back then, […] It was back immediately.” And notes: “We both immediately went into a state of fear.” Despite the shock and fear, Anna-Maria and Bushido emphasize clearly: Their unborn child was not to blame for this situation. “It was mine Feelings that I had about this pregnancy,” said the 41-year-old. “Which of course the child can’t do anything about.”
