Headlining the film “Anna” by Luc Besson in the guise of a ruthless killer who is obviously reminiscent of a certain Nikita, Sasha Luss has gone, like others before her, from the Fashion catwalks to the red carpet of the 7th Art.

Almost thirty years after Nikita and her heroine junkie transformed in spite of herself into a killing machine, Luc Besson delivered in 2019 Anna, broadcast this evening on TF1. A film that the filmmaker wanted, in his own words, at the crossroads between Léon and Nikita exactly.

As the multi-identity killer – covers: Sasha Luss. Born in Magadan, Russia in 1992, she developed a passion for dance and writing very early on. Gifted, Sasha shines in ballet competitions before an injury prevents her from satisfying her passion.

Spurred on by those around her, Sasha and her mother then go around modeling agencies and the young girl is very quickly spotted, signing her first contracts at the age of 14. Two years later, the future actress marched for the first time on the catwalks. Sasha will very quickly climb the ladder in the fashion world, working with great designers like Karl Lagerfeld and big luxury brands like Dior, Chanel, Calvin Klein or Givenchy.

It was in 2017 that Luc Besson spotted her and called on her to play Princess Lihö-Minaa, of the Pearl people, in the blockbuster Valérian. The opportunity for the artist to rub shoulders with the perilous exercise of performance capture, a technique not necessarily easy to grasp for a beginner actor.

For the record, it was her in the film:

Convinced, the filmmaker once again turned to her to offer her the title role ofAnna, which, by the way, was a bitter failure in the cinema…

In 2019, we had also met the actress as well as Luke Evans. We asked them if they knew the heroines of Luc Besson’s films well. Answer below, in video!
