During an interview for Le Parisien, Anne Roumanoff reveals a project she is considering about her two grandmothers.
Anne Roumanoff is an accomplished artist. With projects in his head, the comedian would like to embark on a new challenge that concerns his family. “I’m very interested in this story of transmission. I plan to write a book about my grandmothers, extraordinary women, free, strong, independent, ahead of their time, who had very turbulent lives, thwarted loves, tossed about by war. I would like to do them justice”she begins by declaring to the Parisian. Indeed, his two grandmothers had a particular history.
Anne Roumanoff specifies: “The fact that my two grandmothers left their country of origin (Lithuania for one, Morocco for the other), suddenly, that surely explains this feeling of instability that I felt. When I take stock, of my four grandparents, I have only one French : my mother’s father, Catholic from Bordeaux, of Spanish origin. The others are Russian Jews on my father’s side and Moroccan Jews on my mother’s side. It’s mixed.”
Anne Roumanoff: “Perhaps an additional partner is missing for the film to start”
The comedian also returned to his production project : “I hope to shoot it next summer! I have the script, a super producer, Manuel Munz, the 80% financing. It may lack an additional partner for the film to engage. I am convinced of the subject: a film about 50-year-old women who divorce. I would like to make a funny and touching film, with depth and truth.” If she is now at the peak of her career, Anne Roumanoff had a difficult start.
“I had absolutely no show business codes, false smiles, jealousies…”
She remembers in particular her debut on television. “There were a lot of guys who had been around, in cabarets, at Bouvard, and who saw me arrive wondering: ‘What is this thing in red, a little nunuche?’ I had absolutely no show business codes, false smiles, jealousies… Chantal Ladesou was very kind to me, very protective. For me, it was a leap into the void. And at the same time , I was so happy to be able to express myself somewhere. I started with the character of Bernadette, nunuche girl from the South. Many thought it was me…”
Why does Anne Roumanoff always wear red?
Thus, she reveals why she has always worn red. “For my first TV, I bought something from Kookaï, striped red and white. Afterwards, I had a superstition: I was afraid that success would stop if I took it off. This red has become my trademark. It’s a color I feel good in. The TVs I did in black had less impact.”
