Between 2021 and 2022, the Div 2 has changed! Lots of new teams are appearing in the LFL Second Division and new faces will have to get used to. Promotion of PCS since the Open Tour, relegation of Izi Dream and MCES from the LFL, the new JL project and the purchase of the Solary Academy slot by Lille Esport … We were already 5 new teams! But it was not over, since today beGenius, the structure from Occitanie, formalized the buyout of the slot from GameWard Academy ! All of his new arrivals make us drool with envy and we can’t wait to see the competition resume on MGG.
Just like the case of Solary, we imagine that the new regulations of Riot Games forced the executives a bit. In 2023, the same ERL structure will not be able to have a team in Division 1 and a team in Division 2 … For those with an academic team, the sale therefore seemed inevitable.
Another southern team!
Southerners League of Legends fans must be smiling. They are spoiled for choice when it comes to supporting their favorite French team. Between MCES (Marseille), Izi Dream (Aix) and now beGenius (Montpellier), this part of France is very well represented and it is perhaps no coincidence that after Monaco and Aix, the LFL will travel very soon to Nice for a physical event.
For his part beGenius announced to target the playoffs … Which would then allow the structure to consider a rise in LFL. The goal is ambitious, but the story would be beautiful. It remains to be seen what the team’s roster will be made of.
