Vienna is not the first tournament that Alexander Zverev wins this year. But it is the first tournament with his new girlfriend Sophia Thomalla at his side. The 24-year-old pays tribute to your company in his acceptance speech. And announces his big plans.
In the evening after the fifth title of this turbulent tennis year, Alexander Zverev traveled on to the city of love with his girlfriend Sophia Thomalla. “It’s nice to have a woman who knows what she wants in life. She’s a great woman. There’s a reason we’re together and we’ve chosen each other,” said Zverev. Should he win another tournament, 2021 would definitely go into the rankings as the best season of his career so far.
In private, however, things could hardly be better for Zverev at the moment. Which was not necessarily to be expected towards the end of this eventful year. Because Zverev still occupy and accompany the allegations of violence by his ex-girlfriend, which are being investigated by the professional organization ATP and which Zverev has vehemently denied several times. “As I said before, I categorically and unequivocally reject all these allegations,” he said at the tournament in Indian Wells.
