Ant-Man 3: the villain Kang the Conqueror revealed on a 1st poster of Quantumania

After Thanos, the new bad guy in Phase V of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be Kang the Conqueror. Played by Jonathan Majors, he appears on a first visual of the film unveiled during Comic Con in San Diego.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which will land in theaters on February 15, 2023, will be the first feature film of the MCU’s Phase V.

The film will feature a brand new antagonist with Kang the Conqueror, who will be played by Jonathan Majors.

Introduced via a variant of the character in the Loki series, the supervillain, who is called to succeed Thanos, was revealed on a first poster of the film. We see him in the background, overlooking the 3 heroes, Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) and Cassie Lang, the daughter of Ant-Man.

The latter is also revealed in a superheroine costume. Played by Kathryn Newton, she will surely play an important role in this 3rd part of the adventures of Ant-Man, still directed by Peyton Reed.

As often with Marvel, the plot of this Ant-Man 3 is shrouded in mystery. The title, Quantumania, however suggests that the quantum dimension (“Quantum Realm” in English), at the heart of the plot of the second opus but also of Avengers Endgame, will again have its importance in history.

The presence of Kang also suggests some time travel or the multiverse, a concept developed at length in Loki and which will be found in Spider-Man No Way Home and Doctor Strange 2 before Ant-Man 3.

See you on February 15, 2023 to open Phase V of the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
