Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania begins Phase 5 in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Now a new, long trailer is here.

the new, quite spectacular trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is here. The third film about Paul Rudd (53) as a microscopic superhero starts in cinemas on February 15, 2023 – and opens the fifth phase in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

New super villain Kang introduces himself in detail

Paul Rudd aka Ant-Man faces Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors) in the third solo adventure, as seen in the first trailer. In the new clip, fans get to know him better. With this film, Kang is built into the new main antagonist of the Marvel Cinematic Universe – beyond phase 5. In the next “Avengers” movie, slated for 2025, “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty,” the time traveler is, as the title suggests, the superhero team’s great enemy.

The charismatic Kang offers Scott Lang aka Ant-Man a deal in the trailer. They help each other by giving each other what they both need most: time. Despite warnings from his parents (Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer), Scott agrees. After all, he missed a lot of life time with his daughter. Cassie is now grown up and will be played by Kathryn Newton (25) for the first time. Kang begins to play with timelines and multiverse. With consequences known from the Marvel Universe. So we see a doubled Paul Rudd.

“Ant-Man” no longer wants to be a “palate cleaner” for the “Avengers”.

We also get to know the world in which “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” plays in more detail in the new teaser. Ant-Man and his followers are thrown into the Quantum Universe, a big little world below ours. The trailer explores the microcosm with bombastic, psychedelic images.

Peyton Reed (58), like the director of the first two “Ant-Man” films, had previously announced, no longer wanting to play the “little palate cleanser” after a big “Avengers” spectacle with part three. He succeeded in doing this with the spectacular, original images in the trailer. Even if his film is “only” supposed to establish the next “Avengers” opponent.

For fans of the extended Marvel cosmos, there is another treat in the teaser: the first look at MODOK. But the floating head can only be seen briefly. Marvel has not yet announced which actor will play the crowd’s favorite.
