Apex Legends: Control Mode, all the details

On the occasion of the release of the Dissidence season, the twelfth of Apex Legends, on February 8, 2022, players will have the possibility, in the following three weeks, to to discover a totally new mode, Control. In order to be totally ready before entering the Arena, or rather the Wild Lands, here is everything you need to know about control mode in Apex Legends.

This mode allows players to discover a new way to play Apex Legends, on several points. The biggest change, besides the original objective, is the fact that these are two teams of nine players who face each other, drastically increasing the size of the teams. In fact, the tactics and the gameplay will be far from the habits of the battle royale and the cards are completely folded. Each Legend will have their say.

You guessed it, the objective is to take control of an area, and above all to keep it as long as possible, in order to score points. The first team to reach 1250 points wins the game. Obviously, death in Control is not final. You reappear almost immediately, seem to return to battle. It is also a good mode to get to know Legends or weapons that you are not used to selecting.. You will be able to change Legend and/or equipment after each death.

However, to add a little spice to these already nervous confrontations, random and limited events will disturb the battlefield, while air drops can obtain more powerful weapons, to disrupt the flow of the game. .

Controlling certain areas, for example the central area, gives you significant advantages, especially for respawning. If it is basically done in your camp, you will be able to reappear in an advanced way, and therefore save time, if your squad controls the base in the center of the map. The objective is obviously to control the three points, in order to garner a maximum of points. Moreover, when a team controls the three points, a Lockout starts and if the team has not lost control when it ends, it is, on the field, declared the winner.

To finish with the specifics of the Control mode, know that a coast with the public is present. The objective is to make it progress, with heroic actions, in order to access increasingly powerful weapons, and a more devastating ultimate. This rating resets with each death.

Control mode is played on two different maps: Hammond Labs on Olympus and Barometer in the Storm Zone.

Available from February 8, for a duration of three weeks, it is not impossible that the mode will return later, if the Apex Legends community appreciates it.
