Like many competitive shooters, Apex Legends is not spared from cheaters. The latter use an aiming aid, a wallhack or any other illicit bonus, such as a speed boost or no recoil when shooting. Respawn and Electronic Arts are well aware of this issue and will be working to limit these malicious users over the coming months.
Conor “Hideouts” Ford, security analyst at Respawn, tweeted that ” very exciting additions will arrive in 2023, as will Apex Legends anti-cheat changes “. As a reminder, the battle royale uses Easy Anti-Cheatsoftware also used by Fortnite, Dead by Daylight or Hunt: Showdown.

These modifications to the anti-cheat barrier of Apex Legends could also concern a change in softwareespecially because Electronic Arts has recently developed its own software, with EA Anticheat, inaugurated with FIFA 23. Even if the players had to face some problems, the developers were able to make many improvements and the year 2023 may see the software being implemented in other games, including Apex Legends.
Let’s hope these changes are effective, to prevent cheaters from thriving on Apex Legends and scaring away other players, like PUBG sometime ago.
