Apple Arcade: Sonic, Gear.Club and a bit of poetry are coming in April

In April, Apple Arcade offers classics of mobile games in full version and without ads, but also new ones not to be missed. Sonic, the sumptuous and powerful cars of Gear.Club or even the kings of billiards and construction are at the rendezvous of novelties.

If success ended up smiling at the Apple TV+ service after a decried launch, Apple Arcade wants to believe it too. The subscription-based service providing unlimited access to a catalog of more than a hundred games enjoys growing esteem, with titles such as Fantasy, crowned best mobile game last year by several sites, and multiple quality exclusives. But it seems to be struggling to find a place in the hearts and devices of gamers.

However, the Apple brand goes all out to frequently add titles of excellent graphic, narrative and playability quality. Last month, Monument Valley 2+the full version of the mobile title without ads or in-app purchases, or even the unreleased Alto’s Adventure: The Spirit of the Mountain were offered to subscribers.

Race, fun and poetry

In April, Apple uses two well-known licenses to carry its message. Starting with Sonic, Sega’s iconic hero, arriving on April 8 in Sonic Dash+ (only on iPhone, iPod and iPad). This time it’s not a new game for Apple Arcade, but an improved version of the runner released in 2013. But it adds a silly and very popular feature: rankings between players around the world to compare your performance and win prizes.

For the rest, the game uses the initial recipe, with its 3D environments inspired by Sonic The Hedgehog, but in a modern version. You will have to overcome the obstacles in this infinite racing game, use your superpowers to dodge attacks and speed up. You can choose to play Sonic, but also Tails, Shadow or Knuckles.

Announced during the last spring keynote, Gear.Club Stradale is here to shine a light on the prowess of the A15 Bionic and M1 chips. The racing game from the French studio Eden Games is above all designed for mobile. It embarks the pilots in landscapes of Tuscany in particular and at the wheel of emblematic brands (Bugatti, Alfa Romeo, Pagani, McLaren, Porsche, etc.). The recipe remains the same: join a club with your friends and participate in events to make your team shine. You can then improve your vehicle in the workshops of your Villa, face up to 5 other players and unlock a lot of content. Rev up the engines on April 8.

Plum+ is a poetic and contemplative game in which you will have to cultivate and grow your trees on abandoned land at your fingertips. But beware of the dangers that lurk and prevent you from understanding how the world has come to this.

And lovers of delicate games will no doubt revel in Moonshot — Homecoming, a walk among the stars for a very small Moon separated from the Earth. You will have to play with gravity to find your way, but also solve puzzles based on the laws of physics using “click and drag”. A total of 126 levels and 7 worlds are to be explored. Every day and every week, challenges will be offered to get rewards.
