It’s been a few days now since Apple started marketing its VisionPro. Like iPhone, iPad and Mac, the headset benefits from regular adjustments, depending on updates.

Since February 2, Apple has entered the era of the spatial computer, with its Vision Pro headset. If everyone (or almost) now knows that the headset can display a real-time rendering of the user’s eyes on its external screen (via EyeSight), the Vision Pro can also create a digital version of each user.

Apple Vision Pro and Personas

Indeed, through the numerous cameras and other sensors embedded in the Vision Pro helmet, the user can easily access their digital avatar, also called “Persona”. These very realistic avatars are developed in software, by scanning the user, and these personas are responsible for reproducing the movements of the user’s face and hands.

Thanks to this persona function, users can create digital versions of themselves, which allows interlocutors (via Zoom or FaceTime) to see facial expressions and hand movements.

Better for the Persona function with VisionOS 1.1

Like any good self-respecting electronic and connected device, Apple’s Vision Pro headset is subject to firmware updates. A first security update was notably deployed when the headset was marketed.

Recently, version 1.1 of VisionOS has been available. In addition to various optimizations, the latter allows you to recalibrate your persona, taking advantage of the latest software developments. To do this, you must hold your Vision Pro in front of you and perform the requested movements, in order to allow it to scan your face.

Note that Apple still defines this Persona function as an application in phase “ beta », and the latter should therefore continue to improve with future updates.
