Apple has equipped the iPhone 15 with an exclusive feature that allows for better battery management

In addition to Standby mode, NameDrop or contact posters, some of the new features brought by iOS 17 are reserved for iPhone 15. This is the case, for example, of thedisplay of the number of battery cycles of the smartphone. A new screen then appears, displaying information about the battery, namely its date of manufacture, date of first use and number of cycles.

A page then appears which allows you to know the maximum capacity of the battery compared to when it was new. That said, the percentage indicated is not always evocativer for the general public.

The number of cycles turns out to be much more understandable. It corresponds to the number of charge and discharge cycles that a modern smartphone battery can endure before it reaches 80% of its original capacity. In the opinion of experts, this figure is 800 for iPhone 15. This tool, in conjunction with the new functionality allowing you to adjust the maximum charge capacity of the battery yourself, will therefore allow users to better manage recharge cycles.

That being said, you don’t have to own an iPhone 15 to determine the battery cycle count. A menu, a little hidden,iOS 16 already allows all users to know this statistic. That said, the procedure to follow is a bit tedious.

  • tap “ Analysis data »
  • look for a file like “ Analytics-2023-09-20… ”, for example, and click on it
