Apple presented two new iPads, a fresh Apple Watch and the iPhone 13 at its autumn keynote.

The tech world took another look in the direction of Cupertino on September 14th to see what new products Apple will present at this year’s autumn keynote. In addition to four variants of the expected iPhone 13, Apple also showed two fresh iPads and the Apple Watch Series 7.

Slim design, longer battery life

The new iPhone 13 has the usual slim design and this time comes with an aluminum frame in five different colors. The recess at the top of the screen, in which the front camera is hidden, is 20 percent smaller. The built-in 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display should be up to 28 percent brighter and the A15 Bionic Chip, together with more energy-efficient components, should enable up to 2.5 hours longer battery life than the previous model.

A new wide-angle camera in the two-camera system should provide more brightness and less image noise with a larger sensor. In addition, the iPhone 13 should offer improved 5G functionality. There will also be a smaller model called the iPhone 13 mini with a 5.4-inch display. Here the battery life should be up to 1.5 hours longer. The devices are available from 799 euros or 899 euros, depending on the memory installed.

In addition, Apple has introduced two further variants of the smartphone, the iPhone 13 Pro and the iPhone 13 Pro Max, which will be available in four colors. The A15 Bionic Chip is also the heart of these models, which are equipped with a 6.1-inch or 6.7-inch display. Apple promises users the most advanced camera that has ever existed. All three rear cameras get new lenses and sensors. Thanks to new features, video recordings should also be more spectacular than before.

As with the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini, the Pro models should offer an extended battery life of 1.5 (Pro) and 2.5 hours (Pro Max). The prices also differ here depending on the memory installed and start at € 1,149 and € 1,249. All variants mentioned can be pre-ordered from September 17th and will then be available from September 24th.

Two new iPads

In addition, Apple has presented a new iPad and a fresh iPad mini. The iPad uses an A13 bionic chip and promises up to 20 percent more performance. Thanks to a 12-megapixel front camera, users snap better selfies and the 10.2-inch retina display supports “True Tone” to adjust content on the screen to the color temperature of the surroundings. The whole thing is delivered with iPadOS 15, which allows users, among other things, to place widgets next to apps. The new iPad is available from 379 euros, but depending on the version, it can also be up to 689 euros.

The new iPad mini has a liquid retina display with a size of 8.3 inches and appears in four different colors. According to the manufacturer, the A15 Bionic Chip enables up to 80 percent faster performance than the previous mini model. Equipped with a USB-C connection, 5G functionality and a new 12-megapixel sensor for the rear camera, the starting price is 549 euros. Both devices can be pre-ordered now and will be available from September 24th.

The Apple Watch Series 7 was also a topic in the keynote. In addition to an optimized user interface, which among other things has redesigned buttons, the smart watch has an almost 20 percent larger display area. The watch is available in sizes 41 mm and 45 mm. Apple promises the most robust watch that has ever existed and offers new dials and cases in numerous different colors. The battery should last up to 18 hours on one charge and can be charged around 33 percent faster than the previous model. The Apple Watch Series 7 should appear in the fall.
