While the iPhone 14 series has almost no more secrets, all eyes are already on next year’s models. In a Medium post, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo indicates that the iPhone 15 Pro Max would feature a periscope zoom.

How the pricing table works
According to Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple would have a periscopic zoom in its boxes. The latter would land with the iPhone 15 Pro Max in 2023. According to the analyst, the optical magnification would reach x6, on a 12-megapixel sensor, whose pixels measure 1/3″, and opening at f / 2.8 Direct stabilization on the sensor would also be included, as on the iPhone 13 Pro.

A major development for the firm at Apple which, at present, only offers a x3 optical zoom, where the competition on Android has already moved to x5 or even x10 magnifications. It is also on this ground that high-end smartphones powered by the Google OS play to stand out. Like Samsung and its “Space Zoom”, a hybrid magnification up to x100 capable of capturing shots of the moon.
Also according to Ming-Chi Kuo, the integration of a periscopic zoom would increase the price of the iPhone. Nevertheless, the models of the following year should also benefit from it. The iPhone 16 Pro would gain the famous x6 zoom to offer a less expensive alternative to its Pro Max variant.
