Apple: The latest rumors about the iPhone 14 (120Hz, etc.)

When it comes to Apple products, rumors abound, from the wildest to the most serious. But when it comes to information from a serious analyst, there is usually something fishy.

In a research note from Haitong International Securities, analyst Jeff Pu was able to talk about his expectations and provided some information on what looks to be in store for Apple’s iPhone 14. Pu said that all iPhone 14 models will feature ProMotion screens, which are currently the only iPhone 13s in the Pro range.

Better screen and more RAM?

ProMotion screens can display a refresh rate up to 120 Hz, for more fluidity. They were introduced by Apple on the iPad Pro, before arriving on iPhone 13 last year. Among other new features, the analyst also suggests that the entire iPhone 14 range would benefit from more RAM, namely 6 GB on board … as is also currently the case with the iPhones 13 Pro and Pro Max. CQFD.

The other Apple analyst

Where things get complicated is that another analyst named Ross Young denies the information on the screen, and specifies that it will be necessary to wait for the iPhone 15 for a generalization of 120 Hz on each of the models. As you can see below, a following user asks if 120Hz will be available on the iPhone 14. Young replies that due to logistics and supply issues, it will probably have to wait until 2023.

Whatever happens, 14 iPhones are expected to be unveiled in September 2022.
