Apple TV and Paramount+ could merge their offerings into a single, cheaper subscription

According to information from the Wall Street Journal, Apple and Paramount are negotiating the terms of a historic agreement in the streaming market. The two entertainment giants plan to combine their two offers in a single bundle, at a more attractive price than the two separate formulas.

There was a time when Netflix was the ideal alternative to piracy. For a very attractive price (at the time), the user had access to a catalog of quality series and films, without having to risk installing malware and other joys of illegal downloading. But since then, water has flowed under the bridge, and spectators find themselves assailed with streaming offers from all sides, which also continue to increase their prices.

Result: Internet users are increasingly returning to piracy. To bring them back and to convince those who cannot decide, there are not many solutions: lower prices, or sign an agreement with another broadcaster. Apple TV+, failing to lower its prices, opted for the second solution. In France, the service has already been included with the Canal+ subscription since April, at no additional cost. And the firm is already preparing its next move.

Apple TV+ and Paramount+, strength in numbers?

Indeed, the Wall Street Journal states in a recent report that Apple is in the process of approaching Paramount to create a common bundle of their two streaming offers. For the moment, no real information has reached us on the progress of the negotiations, or even on the price envisaged by the two companies. However, it seems obvious that the latter will be more interesting than subscribing to the two platforms separately.

On the same subject — Apple TV+: surprise, prices are increasing in France and the bill is rather steep!

Neither company wanted to comment on the information to the Wall Street Journal. We will therefore have to wait a little to know the content of this agreement – if indeed it is completed. There is no doubt, however, that this bundle will greatly benefit Paramount+, which has struggled to find a place in the streaming market since its arrival last year.
