A few days after its conference, Apple has just confirmed important information about the Vision Pro.

While we have only just learned that Apple has lowered its ambitions regarding the resolution of its headphones, the Cupertino giant has finally confirmed what the refresh rate will be.

When Apple fails to share information about its mixed reality headset

During its keynote at WWD23, Apple provided plenty of details about its mixed reality headset. Sporting an appearance close to ski or diving goggles, the Vision Pro presents itself as a mask with a light and non-intrusive design, unlike many VR offers available on the market. If we also know that it will ship two microOLED screens with 23 million pixels, we still did not know what the refresh rate of the headphones would be.

Indeed, Apple had indeed been careful not to communicate this information to us during its keynote. On the other hand, during a detailed presentation of the beast to professionals, a representative of the apple brand finally let go.

Apple Vision Pro: the refresh rate can go up to 96 Hz

So it’s official, the Apple Vision Pro will offer a refresh rate that will “generally” be 90 Hz, which more precisely corresponds to 90 frames per second. Apple’s headphones may however go slightly beyond 90 Hz in certain very specific situations, such as when watching video at 24 fps (information reported by the site GSMArena). For comparison, the basic iPhone offers a refresh rate of 60 Hz against a rate of 120 Hz for the Pro iterations of the various devices from Tim Cook’s firm (iPhone, iPad, MacBook).

While waiting to be able to glean other information, remember that the Vision Pro will be equipped with an interesting feature that will allow people around you to see your eyes. The option will automatically activate when other individuals enter the room you are in. In particular, this will prevent too much isolation once your eyes are immersed in the mixed reality headset.
