Apple would have paid 60 billion to developers in 2021

The manufacturer took stock of its service activity during the year 2021 and gave some rare figures on the growth of the App Store.

Services are now an activity in their own right at Apple, which has increased the number of products and subscription formulas to reach all of its customers.

The App Store remains one of Apple’s cash cows, even in times of crisis

During the year 2021, the App Store has never done so well, according to the company which announces to have given back 60 billion dollars to the developers during the last 12 months.

In total, the various publishers and developers have touched $ 260 billion since the launch of the App Store in 2008.

This year, the Cupertino company does not however give the total turnover generated by its application store and is content to speak of double-digit growth achieved between Christmas and New Year’s Day, without further indication. .

On the other hand, we should not count on more transparency from Apple about the other services it offers. In its press release, the company is content to retrace the various highlights of its year, such as the launch of Apple Fitness + internationally or the arrival of Dolby Atmos on Apple Music, but without ever giving the number of users of each of its products.
